Mr. Enrico "Hank" C. Battisti, 91, of Altoona, Pa died Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 10:59 PM at Maybrook Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center after an extended illness.
Mr. Battisti was born in Altoona, Pa on July 16, 1926, son of the late Paul John and Luigina (Campagna) Battisti. He married Janice A. McNellis December 15, 1973 at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church, Altoona.
Hank retired in 1987 as a Material Foreman at Conrail with 43 years sevice. He previously was a camera specialist in the Juniata Locomotive Shop with Pennsylvania and Penn Central Railroads. He also taulght printing at Altoona VOTECH.
He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church Altoona, Pa.
Mr. Battisti was a 1946 graduate of Altoona High School. He was a member of Disabled American Veterand, Charter Member of AIAI Post American Legion, Air Force Sargents Association, Air Force Memorial Foundation, Good Sam Camping Club, Boy Scouts of American and was past president of "Big A Boosters". He enjoyed rececreatioal vehicle camping and computers.
He served in the U.S. Navy in the WWII & Korea. He also served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife and 7 children Henry V. (April) Battisti, Anthony F. (Debra) McNellis Jr.Sharon and husband, (James) and Carol Janetta and husband (Richard) all from Altoona, Pa. Debra Van Duran and husband (Craig) in California Suasn Marie (Gerald) Conrad, of Gallitzin, Pa and Judith A. (Christian) Andros, of Fredericksburg, Va. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. Mr. Battisti was preceded in death by 4 siblings Guido Battisti, Paul J. Battisti Jr, Frank Battisti and Mary Henderson. Also was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason Peters.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, June 11, 2018 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Altoona, Pa.
Committal Rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery Altoona, Pa.
Friends will be received from 5 - 8 PM Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Jones Funeral Home where a Vigil for the Deceased will be held during the visitation.
