Mr. Robert Flores, 91, of Altoona, Pa, died at 7:13 PM, Thursday, July 18, 2019 at UPMC-Altoona, Altoona, Pa of complications of a medical procedure.
Mr. Flores was born in Ranger, TX on November 8, 1927, son of the late Simplicio and Ana (Ballez) Flores. He married Denise C. Devine April 18, 1958 in Washington D.C.
He retired in 1989 as a Maintenance Supervisor at Mash’s Hams, Cheverly, MD with 23 years of service. Robert previously retired from the US ARMY as a S Sgt. July 31, 1966 with 20 years of service. He served during the Korean Conflict and during the Vietnam War.
He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church Altoona, Pa.
Robert was a high school graduate and attended various Military Schools.
He is survived by his wife and 2 children Robert A. (Donna) Flores, of Clarksville, MD; and Stephanie A. (Robert) Flores-Koulish, of Baltimore, MD; 5 Grandchildren; 6 siblings Elizabeth Camacho, of Ft. Worth, TX; Natividad Owen, of Bay City, MI; Carol Richardson, of Bay City, MI; Ross Flores, of Freeland, MI; Eddie Flores, of Bay City, MI; and Arthur Flores, of Bay City, MI. Robert is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 3 siblings Martha Velasquez, Richard Flores and Lucy Cabena.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
Committal Rites will be held at Arlington National Cemetery.
There will be no public visitation.
