Catherine Hardin

Mrs. Catherine M. "Cookies" Hardin, 82, of Altoona, Pa died at 7:45 AM, Sunday, May 27, 2018 at her home, after an extended illness.

She was born June 21, 1935 in Altoona, daughter of the late Cecil H. and Anna M. (Kuhn) Gority. She married Howard C. Hardin June 5, 1954 at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. He died September 17, 2006.

She retired in September 2006 as an Accountant with over 50 years of service.

She was a member of Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament Altoona, Pa.

Cookie was a 1854 graduate of Alttona High School and she graduated from Altoona School of Commerce June 4, 1989. She was a member of of Senior Life. Cookie enjoyed spending time with her children and family, and her faithful, loving companion "Hollie" playing cards with her daughters and studying family and world history.

She is survived by 4 children Cynthia J. (Rick) Wilson, of Bellwood, Pa; Bernadette A. (Paul) Franell, of Hollidaysburg, Pa; Todd T. (Louise) Hardin, of Altoona, Pa; AND Dianne F. (Philip) Keith, of Fallen Timber, Pa; a bother John F. (Donna) Gority, of Duncansville, Pa; a sister Regina B. (Joe) Friedenberger, of Altoona, Pa. She is also survived 4 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. Cookie was preceded in death by 2 sons David R. Hardin and Howard H. "Howie" Hardin a grandson Justin D. Hardin and a granddaughter Jacqueline M. Swanger and 7 sibings.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona, Pa with Msgr. Robert C. Mazur celcbrant.

Committal Rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery Altoona, Pa.

Friends will be received from 5-8 PM Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Jones Funeral Home where a Vigil For the Deceased will be held during the visitation.
