Charles M. "Chuck" Hennigan, 86, of Hollidaysburg died Monday, March 27, 2017 at UPMC Altoona after a brief illness.

Mr. Hennigan was born in Hollidaysburg on December 17, 1930 son of the late Richard W. and Bessie (Weaver) Hennigan. He married Cecelia S. Sienkiewicz February 19, 1955 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Plains, Pa.

He retired January 2, 1993 as a Newspaper Pressman from the Altoona Mirror with 32 years of service. Previously, he worked nine years as a mailroom clerk and a newspaper pressman at the Altoona Tribune and also three years at the Latrobe Bulletin as a newspaper pressman.

Chuck was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Altoona.

Mr. Hennigan was a 1948 graduate of Altoona High School. He is a member of the Graphic Communications International Union; American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) and Our Lady of Fatima Altar & Rosary Society. Chuck also served as a docent (tour guide) at the Railroaders Museum.

Chuck served in the US Air Force as a Staff Sergeant (T) in the Korean War and received the United States Service Medal, Korean Service Medal W/3BSS, National Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Distinguished Unit Citation (GO 309 HQ FEA).

Chuck is survived by his wife and three daughters, Elizabeth A. Boyles of Altoona; Theresa M. (Dan) Clapper of Center Hall; and Heather H. (Gregory) Stewart of Woodbine, MD. He is survived by a grandson, Dennis (Cherie) Boyles of Leesburg, VA and three step great grandsons, Christian, Tommy and Jack Sandrof. He was preceded in death by four siblings.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, March 31, 2017 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Altoona, with Msgr. Robert C. Mazur celebrant.

Committal Rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.

Friends will be received from 5 - 8 PM Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Jones Funeral Home where a Vigil For the Deceased will be held during the vistation.
