Dennis J. Ivory, 61, of Altoona, Pa died Wednesday, July 22, 2020 on Route 36, Logan Township, Altoona, as a result of an automobile accident.
Mr. Ivory was born in Altoona, Pa on April 19, 1959, son of the late Joseph Edmund and Grace M. (Leamer) Ivory. He married Mary Jo Anderson January 23, 2000 in Altoona.
Dennis was a Salesman at Blair Candy Company with 42 years of service from 1978 to 2020.
He was a member of First Church of Christ on Good Shepard Road Altoona.
He was the Founder and Singer of the Sharp Tones which is a group that entertained all over Pennsylvania for the past 15 years. He greatest joy was his children and grandchildren. He was Mustang enthusiast, enjoyed doing home improvement projects, antiques and was a man very strong in his faith.
He is survived by his wife and 3 children Ashley M. (Leo) Dryburgh, Justin D. Thomas, and Christine (Taylor) Lazzell all of Altoona, Pa; 3 grandsons Tanner Dryburgh, Grayson Dryburgh, and Luca Lazzell, all of Altoona, Pa; 5 siblings Joseph E. (Betty) Ivory, of Eustis, FL; David L. (Becky) Ivory, of Altoona, Pa; James M. (Joanne) Ivory, of Gallitzin, Pa; Regina Ivory, of Altoona, Pa and Diane K. Gomes, of Altoona, Pa. He is also survived by his “Little Dog Macy”.
A Funeral Service will be celebrated at Frist Church of Christ Altoona, Pa 16601 at noon on Monday, July 27, 2020 with Pastor John Collins officiating.
Committal Rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery Altoona, Pa.
Friends will be received Monday July 27, 2020 from 10:00 AM to Noon at Frist Church of Christ on God Shepard Road and Juniata Gap Road. Due to COVID 19 restrictions, masks will be required.
Arrangements are by Jones Funeral Home, Altoona.
