Joyce (Rourke) Mcneal

Mrs. Joyce Ann (Rourke) McNeal, 58, of 1324 - 18th Avenue, Altoona died Sunday, June 4, 2017 at her home after an extended illness.

Mrs. McNeal was born in Altoona on August 4, 1958, a daughter of the late James R. and Blondina S. (Kelley) Rourke, Sr. She married Joseph E. McNeal April 25, 2000 in Jamaica.

She retired in 2014 as an inside salesperson at U.S. Foods with 28 1/2 years of service. Previously, she had been employed by Country Garden Market for 10 years.

She was a member of Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona.

Joyce graduated from Cathedral Grade School and was a 1976 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School. She was a member of Western Pennsylvania Chapter of ALS Association; life member of the Bavarian Aid Society; and the American Cancer Society. She enjoyed traveling, beaches and spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by five step-children Michele Klinger of Aurora, OH; Kiley (Abdul) McNeal of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; Andrew (Amy) McNeal of Altoona; Janelle (fiance Jonathan Patton) McNeal; and Alyssa (Luke) Sackandy of Altoona; three siblings, Bonnie Thornsberry of Altoona; Sharon (Richard) Conte of Altoona and James R. Rourke, Jr. of Altoona. Joyce is also survived by a great nephew/godson Creed Jude Conte and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 9, 2017 at Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona with Msgr. Robert C. Mazur, celebrant.

Committal rites will be held at Alto Reste Park Cemetery, Altoona.

Friends will be received at Jones Funeral Home from 5 - 8 p.m. Thursday, June 8, 2017 where a vigil for the deceased will be held during the visitation.
