Marjorie Springman

Marie Jean Springman, 89, Altoona, died Saturday at Altoona Center for Nursing Care.

She was born in Bellefonte, daughter of the late William and Alice (Hoover) Winton. She married Howard Springman on Nov. 5, 1949 in Winchester, Va., and he preceded her in death on March 4, 1970.

Surviving is a son, Stephen H. (Janey) Springman of Altoona.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Winton.

Marjorie was a 1946 graduate of Altoona High School. She also graduated from Adele Allen Beauty School as a beautician.

She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Altoona, and she enjoyed reading, shopping, and was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Father Ronald Osinski celebrant. Committal rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are by Jones Funeral Home, Altoona.
