Mary (Clifford) Shea, 86, of Altoona died early Thursday morning, September 21, 2023 at her home. She was born December 8, 1936, in Buffalo, NY, daughter of the late Joseph M. and Beulah M. (Coffey) Clifford. She married the late Terrance P. Shea, Sr. on October 19, 1957 at Annunciation Church, Buffalo, NY and he preceded her in death on October 19, 2014. Surviving are her six daughters: Mary (James) Farrell of Altoona, Patricia Shea Hoefler of Altoona, Kathleen (Theodore) Sheehan of Wallkill, NY, Jean Marie Shea of Goose Creek, SC, Bridget (Kevin) Beichler of Potomac Falls, VA and Margaret Shea of Altoona; a son, Terrance (Carly) Shea, Jr. of Lewisburg; 13 grandchildren, Katie (Anthony Sr.) Razzano, Jennifer (Benjamin) Weaver, Evan (Alyse) Farrell, Michael Shea, Christopher (Latricia) Hoefler, Alex Hoefler, Ryan and Kevin Sheehan, Ian (Alexa) Beichler, Heather (Michael) Crawford, Amber Beichler, Conrad and Emmy Shea; 12 great-grandchildren, Julia Razzano, Anthony Razzano, Jr., Elijah, Lucas, Chloe, and Liam Weaver, Jadon Hoefler, Carson, Taylor and Jax Beichler, and Amelia and Alexander Crawford; her sister, Margaret Clifford; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Foster; and her three brothers, Joseph, John and Daniel Clifford. Mary was a 1954 graduate of Mount Saint Joseph Academy, Buffalo, NY. She retired in 1998 from Martin’s Foods Markets and after her retirement she worked at TLC Child Care, Altoona. Mary was a member of St. Therese of the Child Jesus, Altoona. She enjoyed gardening, reading, crossword puzzles, walking to morning mass during the week, and especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Monday, September 25, 2023 from 4-8 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held celebrated Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at 10 a.m. St. Therese of the Child Jesus, Altoona, the Rev. Brian Norris, celebrant. Committal will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions may be made to Salvation Army Harrisburg ARC, 3650 Vartan Way, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
