Maureen Peoples

Maureen McManus Peoples, 83, of Garvey Manor Nursing Home, Hollidaysburg died at 5:25 a.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at the Manor.

Mrs. Peoples was born January 30, 1934 in Hollidaysburg, a daughter of the late William Gerald and Mabel R. (Tomlinson) McManus. She married The Honorable Thomas G. Peoples, Jr. May 14, 1966 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Altoona. He died September 19, 2013.

She was a homemaker. She was previously employed as a Supervisor for 14 yrs at the Recorder of Deeds Office at the Blair County Court House.

She had been a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for many years.

Mrs. Peoples was a 1951 graduate of Altoona Catholic High School and attended Zeth Business School. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening and was an avid shopper.

Maureen is survived by 3 children Thomas G. (Winona) Peoples, lll, of Burkburnette, TX; Amy M. (Patrick) Eves of Davenport, IA; and Jennifer A. Yourkavitch, Crozet, VA; 8 grandchildren and a bother W. Gerald McManus of Williamsport, PA; Preceded in death by 2 sisters, Joanne Conklin and Kathleen Huber.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 24,2017 at Garvey Manor, Hollidaysburg, Pa. with Rev. Msgr. Robert J. Saly Celebrant.

Committal Rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery.

There will be no public visitation.
