Mrs. Orvita Elizabeth “Orvita” Knott, 90 of Hollidaysburg, Pa formerly of Altoona, died at 12:08 AM, Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Garvey Manor Nursing Home, after an extended illness.
Mrs. Knott was born in Ashville, Pa on January 13, 1930, daughter of the late John and Pearl (Marlett) Riggleman. She married Joseph A. Knott June 5, 1948 at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Altoona. He died April 5, 2018.
Orvita retired in 1992 as Factory Worker – Shoe Binder at Vincent Horowitz Shoe Factory Altoona with 30 years of service. She also worked at the Martinsburg Shoe Factory.
She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church Altoona, Pa.
Orvita is survived by 4 children Lawrence J. (Kathryn) Knott, Constance A. (Richard) Steinbeiser, Cynthia L, (Lawrence) Nevling and Jeffrey M. (Rebecca) Knott, all of Altoona, Pa; a sister Colleen Douglass, of Altoona, Pa. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. Orvita was preceded in death by a son Joseph A. Knott Jr. great grad daughter Annika R. Steinbeiser and 8 siblings Marie Kelly, Elva Lumadue, Sally Wysocki, Theresa Angeski, Jant Beck, Infant Ralph Riggleman, Kenneth Riggleman, and Glenn Riggleman.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Altoona, Pa with Magr. Stanley B. Carson celebrant.
Committal Rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery Altoona, Pa.
Due to COVID – 19 restrictions there will be a private family only visitation at Jones Funeral Home, Tuesday, November 24, 2020.
