Rev. Anthony was born in Osceola Mills, Pa. on December 28, 1928, daughter of the late Samuel and Dovie (Morgan) Smith. She married Ballard James Anthony October 12, 1946 in Osceola Mills, Pa. He died November 10, 1989.

She retired as a seamstress at Puritan Sportswear Altoona, after many years of service. She formerly worked at VanZandt VA Medical Center, Pittsburgh Plate Glass Co. and Sheetz on 14th Ave.

She was a member of Osceola Mills High School of God In Christ, Harrisburg, where she had served as an usher.

Bertha Mae attended Osceola Mills High School. She enjoyed bowling, roller skating and served as Judge of Electionsin the Third Ward.

She is survived by six daughters Eunice Jean Thomas, of Apple Valley, CA Dovie Franquita (William) Mason, Ida Marie (John) Lansanah/mobley, Vanessa M'Dora Lynch, Yvette Sarah Cooksey all of Harrisburg, Pa. and Vanteria Lou Anthony of Altoona, Pa. Bertha Mae was preceded in death by 2 sons Charles James and Terrance Anthony, 3 grandchildren John S.R. Queen, Yadaya Queen and T.O. Anthony and 8 siblings.

A Funeral Service will be celebrated at Lingo Memorial Church of God in Christ, Harrisburg, Pa. at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, Mruch 11, 2015 with Bishop Benjamin J. Revenel offciating.

Interment will be held at William Howard Day Cemetery Steelton, Pa.

Friends will be received Wednesday, March 11, 2015 from 9:00 AM at Lingo Memorial Church of God in Christ, 2747 Reel St. Harrisburg, Pa.
