Timothy Spahn Sr.

Timothy John "Tim" Spahn Sr., 52, Altoona, died Saturday in Pittsburgh.

He was born in Altoona, son of Jacob G. Jr. and Arlene A. (Frederick) Spahn. He Married Tina A. Gallagher on June 9, 1984, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Altoona.

Surviving are his wife, Tina; his parents; a son, Timothy John Spahn ll of Altoona; a bother, Randy Spahn and wife, Dena, od Altoona; a sister, Lori Cumming and husband, Davie, of Altoona; a brother - in - law, Paul Gallagher and wife, Judy, of Odenton, Md.; five nieces: Lindsey Beeney, Lauren Spahn, Alyssa Cumming, Kelly Gallagher; and Brittany Gallahher: and two great-nephews: Landon and Luke.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Clara Frederick.

Tim was a 1981 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School and received his associate's degree in forestry from Penn State. He took great pride in his work as a grounds superisor where he worked for more then 35 years. He trulyenjoyed helping his community. Tim was also president of Tim Spahn's Landscaping Inc., where he served his customers with great service and pride. He and Tina also owned and operated Spahn Accounting.

Tim and Tina were best friends in life and will be so even in death. They met at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament at their brothers' graduation and became high school sweethearts. They had been happily married for 32 years.

Tim was the best son, husband, father, bother, uncle, great-uncle and friend anyone could want. He had the biggest, kindest heart and would help anyone, anywhere, anytime. He enjoyed cooking, especially the Thanksgiving turkey. He was an avid gardener and had the most beautiful flowers gardens. He loved spending time with family, as family was the most important thing to him. He also enjoyed NASCAR, fishing, camping and photography.

Tim was a member od St. Mary's Catholic Church, Altoona. He is now in the hands of God and is still keeping watch on all of those who mattered to him during his lifetime, He will be deeply and sadly missed by his family, friends and community.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at Jones Funeral Home, 1222 13th Ave., Altoona. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at St. Mary's Catho;ic Church, Altoona, with Monsignor Timothy P. Stein officiating.
