Arthur Paul “Artie” Sheets, 83, of Mechanicsburg, Pa formerly of Altoona, died Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at his residence, after a brief illness.

He was born in Altoona, Pa on June 28, 1937, son of the late Henry Grant and Mary Rhuehanma (Gray) Sheets. And married Mariene J. Shute July 9, 1960 at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church, Altoona.

He retired in 1994 as a Lineman at Penelec.

Paul was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Enola, Pa and Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona.

Paul was a graduate of Altoona High School and attended Penn State Altoona and Shippensburg University. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Stanislaus Kostka Brotherhood. He enjoyed playing golf and fishing.

Paul is survived by his wife and 2 children Lisa A. (Raymond Palmer) Chiado, of Mechanicsburg, Pa and Gregory J. (Jessica) Sheets, of Altoona, Pa; son-In-law Kevin Hancock, of Harrisburg, Pa; a brother Jon (Linda) Sheets of Ormond Beach, FL. Paul is also survived by four grandchildren Garrett Chiado, Dylan (Haley) Chiado, Janna Sheets and Cameron Sheets and a great grandson Henry Chiado. He was preceded in death by a son Dr. Kevin Sheets and 2 brothers Michael and David Sheets.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona, Pa at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 6, 2021 with Msgr Stanley B. Carson Celebrant. COVID – 19 restrictions require face masks and social distancing.

Committal Rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery Altoona, Pa.

There will be no visitation due COVID – 19 restrictions.

Arrangements are by Jones Funeral Home, Altoona.
