Colleen A. Douglass, 82, of Altoona, passed away Saturday at her home. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late John and Pearl (Marlett) Riggleman.
Surviving are her daughter, Kathleen Douglass, and her fiancé, Mike DeFrancesco, of Altoona; a grandson, Troy DeFrancesco, whom she adored; a brother-in-law, Richard “Dick” Douglass and his wife, Mary Catherine, of Reisterstown, Md.; and several nieces and nephews.
Colleen was preceded in death by her loving husband, John J. “Jack” Douglass, whom she married on May 27, 1978 at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Altoona. She was also preceded by six sisters: Marie Kelly, Elva Lumadue, Sally Wysocki, Theresa Angeski, Janet Beck and Orvita Knott; and three brothers: Ralph, Kenneth and Glenn Riggleman.
Colleen was a graduate of Altoona High School and a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Altoona.
She retired as a counter person at Puritan Cleaners in Altoona with five years of service and had previously worked at Vincent Horowitz Shoe Factory and Home Nursing Agency.
Colleen enjoyed working with arts and crafts, working on puzzles and gardening. Most importantly she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Friends will be received from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 16, 2022, at Jones Funeral Home, 1222 13th Ave., Altoona. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 2010 12th Ave, Altoona, PA 16601, with the Rev. Monsignor Stanley B. Carson, celebrant. Inurnment at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Colleen may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
