Obituary

O’Brian, Donald F., 80, Altoona, passed away Monday, May 15, 2023 at home surrounded by his family. Born September 20, 1942, Altoona, son of the late Frank R. and Mary F. (Kelso) O’Brian. Preceded in death by his daughter, Michele M. Craig. Survived by his loving wife, Catherine A. O’Brian; daughters, Sherrie and Tracey; special granddaughter, Carly Craig; brothers-in-law, Bill (Cheryl) Craig; Tom (Deb) Craig; and Bob (Donna) Craig; special sister-in-law, Donna (Pat) Eckenrode; his little buddy, Beckett; two special nephews, Craig and Nick Eckenrode; and his many other nieces and nephews. Donald retired from Boyer Candy Co. after 50 years of services as a mechanic. He was a life member of the Bavarian Aid Society. Donald enjoyed taking rides in his truck, working in his yard, swimming in the pool, and fixing things that were broke…his way. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family. At Donald’s request, there will be no viewing or services. Memorial contributions may be made to UPMC Home Healthcare and Family Hospice, 20 Sheraton Drive, Altoona, PA 16601.
