Edward G. Baker

Edward G. Baker Sr., 84, Altoona, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2022 at Guardian Healthcare Altoona. Born April 13, 1938, Altoona, son of the late Francis P. and Loretta A. (Blake) Baker. Preceded in death by his son, Edward Paul Lauver; and brothers, John and Frank Baker. Survived by his wife, Catherine L. (Soult); sons, Edward Baker Jr. and fiancée Linda; Richard Lauver; Gary Baker; and Thomas Wiesinger, all of Altoona; daughters, Jeannie Laughlin and fiancé Bill, Fallentimber; and Lorelei Baker, State College; and 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Ed attended Altoona Area High School. He served his country in the United States Army. Ed enjoyed spending time at Canoe Creek State Park with his friends and family. Friends and family will be received Friday, December 30, 2022 from 12 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m., Jones Funeral Home, 1222 13th Ave., Altoona, Sara J. Newman, officiant.
