Geraldine M. “Gerri” Rose, 85, Altoona, died Tuesday at her residence.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Walter A. and Magdalen J. (Becker) Tomlinson. On July 16, 1960, she married Paul R. Rose at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Altoona.

Surviving are five children: Kathleen (Jerry) Davies of Dover, Del., Paul William (Brenda) Rose of Altoona, Lorraine (Carl) Campbell of Leesburg, Va., Elizabeth Haun of Clearwater, Fla., and Stephen Mark (Regina Edwards) Rose of Altoona; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and eight siblings: Audrey Breslin of Hollidaysburg, Sr. Rose Tomlinson in Newry, James N. Tomlinson of Boalsburg, Leo Tomlinson of Johnstown, Richard Tomlinson of York, Ronald Tomlinson of Duncansville, Herbert Tomlinson of Altoona and Lucy Stoehr of Colorado Springs, Colo.

She was preceded in death by five siblings: Paul “Dutch” Tomlinson, Ruth Dolores Conley, Mildred Maucieri, Loretta Zeth and Lawrence Tomlinson.

Gerri was a 1952 graduate of Altoona Catholic High School. She retired in 1995 as a real estate agent at Thompson Real Estate, Altoona, with four years of service. Previously, she was a bookkeeper, homemaker and a licensed cosmetologist. She was a Third Order Carmel and a Birthright volunteer.

She enjoyed oil painting, Scrabble and playing pinochle.

A private family viewing will be held at Jones Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at the convenience of the family, Msgr. Stanley Carson officiating.

Committal rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
