Helen Adell Murphy, 87, of Woodbine, MD entered into eternal life, Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at her resident.

Mrs. Murphy was born in Georgetown, Washington, DC on September 5, 1933, daughter of the late Frank R. and Catherine M. (Veise) Sullivan. She married James M. Murphy December 28, 1949 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church Georgetown, Washington, DC. He preceded in her death February 2, 1994 after 45 years of marriage.

Helen was a pharmacy clerk at Giant Foods Silver Springs, MD with 29 years of service.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church Rockville, MD and was a former member of St. Catherine Laboure in Silver Spring, MD until the late 70’s.

Helen attended Wastern High School. She was a member of Merry Widows/Knights of Columbus in Silver Spring, MD. She enjoyed researching geneology – trips and traveling for enjoyment.

She is survived by 2 daughters Helen A. (Larry) Neely of Fredrick, MD and Kathleen P. (John) Kemp, of Woodbine, MD. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren Patricia Gagne , Marjorie H. Davis, Patrick Davis and Stephanie E. Koluch and 3 great grandchildren Jesse R. Bast, Shannon E. Chance and Austin R. Gagne and 1 great great grandson Jaxon R. Bast. She was preceded in death by a son James M. Murphy Jr and 3 siblings Catherine Marshall, Marie Jenkins and Frank R. Suillivan.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Monday, October 12, 2020 at Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament Altoona, Pa.

Committal Rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery Altoona, Pa.

Friends will be received from 5-8 PM Sunday, October 11, 2020 at Jones Funeral Home, Altoona, Pa where a Vigil For the Deceased will be held during the visitation.
