John Bauer

Mr. John Edward "Jack" Bauer, 86, of Altoona, Pa, died at 5:34 PM, Friday, October 7, 2016 at the Lutheran Home At Hollidaysburg, after an extended illness.

Mr. Bauer was born in Altoona, Pa on December 6, 1929, son of the late Carl Joseph and Edna Mary (Shank) Bauer. He married Susan M. Fedeli May 16, 1953 at Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Altoona.

He retired in 1991 as Administrator at Centre Community Hospital State College with 10 years of service. He was previously Manager of Domestic Finance for 25 years.

He was a member of Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament Altoona, Pa.

Jack was a 1947 graduate of Altoona High School. He was a past member of Altoona Kiwanis. He enjoyed his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sports, reading, puzzles and walking his dogs.

In addition to his wife he is survived by 3 sons and a daughter John Edward Bauer Jr. of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; and Dana Anne (Mike) Miller, Mike G. Bauer and Joe A. Bauer all of Altoona, Pa. Jack is also survived by 2 granddaughters Miranda Miller and McKenzie (Blase) Raia and 3 great grandchildren Blase Jr. Brennan and Blakely Raia.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona, Pa. at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 10, 2016 with Msgr. Robert C. Mazur officiating.

Committal Rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery Altoona, Pa.

There will be no public visitation.
