Paul E. Perrin, 84, of Hollidaysburg, formerly of Altoona, died Sunday at UPMC Altoona after an extended illness. He was born in Alexandria, son of the late Russell and Violet (Harvey) Perrin.
He married Florence Frederick on June 22, 1957, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Altoona.
Paul retired in 1998 as a machinist at F.L. Smithe Machine Co. in Duncansville with 31 years of service. He had previously worked for Altoona Water Authority.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Altoona.
Paul was a member of Casey Jones Locomovers Camping Club, Bavarian Aid Society and National Rifle Association.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, camping, traveling, and had visited 49 of 50 states. He also served as Scoutmaster for Troop 25, Altoona.
Paul served in the U.S. Army.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children: Judy (Paul) Gallagher of Odenton, Md.; Donna (Vernon) Neil of Duncansville; Janet Salyards and Robert (Lori) Perrin, both of Hollidaysburg; and a sister, Elmira Hollingshead of Cranberry. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Paul was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Wilkins; and two brothers, Fred and Ronald Perrin.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2022, at Jones Funeral Home, Altoona, where a Vigil for the Deceased will be held during the visitation.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2022, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Altoona, with Father Lubomir Strecock officiating.
Committal will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
