Mrs. Rosemary McConnell, 68, of Altoona, Pa, died at 8:39 AM, Friday, May 1, 2020 at Select Specialty Hospital, Johnstown, Pa after a brief illness.

Mrs. McConnell was born in Altoona, Pa on January 27, 1952, daughter of the late Albert F. and Mary T. (Ditosti) Cataldo. She married Stephen P. McConnell April 15, 1972 at Sacred Heart Catholic, Church, Altoona. He died March5, 2017. She was a dearly loved wife, spending 44 years with her late husband before his passing they lived beautiful full life watching and helping their children and grandchildren grow. They especially enjoyed their annual beach vacation spent with family and friends.

She was a Scheduler at UPMC Altoona with 35 years of service. She previously worked at Ben Secours Hospital. She had talked about retiring but enjoyed working so much with her fellow coworkers.

She was a member of St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church, Altoona, Pa.

Rosemary was a 1970 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School and Altoona School of Commerce, Altoona. She was always up for adventure; traveling anywhere she could drive to and taking anyone who wanted to go with her. She loved to visit new places, try new foods and shop for treasures. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sharing books with close friends. Rosemary lived her life to the fullest; and always with her family and friends in mind. She often told them there wasn’t anything they couldn’t do if they put their minds to it which was evident in her daily life. It will be incredibly hard without her but they will continue to try and live their lives with that in mind. She cherished the time spent with her family and many close friends; especially her best friend since Kindergarten, Beth (George) Berger. Beth’s whole family were all an important part of Rosemary’s life. Her sister Alberta and eldest nice, Gina had a very special bond with her and we are thankful for that. She opened her home to many people throughout her life, offering support, friendship and amazing food. Rosemary more than anything loved for her family. She was an incredible memory maker and will be remembered for all the special moments she created for her family, especially her 7 grandchildren. Seeing her grandchildren happy was what brought her joy. Rosemary will be greatly missed not only by her family but many friends and people whose lives she touched.
